Accommodation

Our hideaway home in Queenstown was conceived as a haven of peace and tranquility. Tucked away above the Wakatipu Basin, l'Amiradou Queenstown sits within private grounds invisible from the road. Approached by a long drive past a small woodland of conifers, l'Amiradou Queenstown is perfect for anyone seeking a respite from hectic lives.

Four ensuite double bedrooms with private outdoor decks hugs the contours of the land. Built on one level, a gently sloping central corridor connects the cosy private and generous public living spaces throughout the house. It is a house built to accommodate generations - where prams or wheelchairs have easy access throughout.

Our four spacious double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and ample storage/closet spaces beckon you to rest and recharge. Our rooms have a combination of super king beds and twin beds that can be put together or used separately. Our beds and linens have been carefully chosen to ensure our guests sleep well! These private rest spaces are separated from the communal living areas so you can be sure you will not be disturbed…whatever the rest of the group may be up to!

The gently sloping corridor that separates our bedrooms from the communal living areas also ensures there is disabled access to all areas of the house.

l'Amiradou Queenstown is a home built for convivial gatherings. The double living spaces connect to an expansive outdoor terrace, open fire places, and spectacular views everywhere encourage relaxation. Two outdoor areas for dining and lounging provide ample al fresco spaces for group gathering, while private decks to all bedrooms allow you more private enjoyment of the weather at its best. And jump into the spa pool hot tub if you’d like a soak while taking in the view! It’s a favourite in all seasons - there’s nothing better than a glass of champagne and a soak in the spa pool after a day out hiking or skiing! There’s also an additional shower so nobody ever has to wait too long to wash up.

Pragmatic comforts were at the heart of design. An open plan kitchen makes it easy to cook and socialise at the same time. However, an additional pantry kitchen gives professional chefs the flexibility of keeping their action tucked away from guests. Those who enjoy barbeques and cooking outdoors will not be disappointed either!

Still, as comfortable as l'Amiradou Queenstown is, some of the world’s most spectacular country will beckon you out. Peter Jackson did not film Lord of the Rings here without good reason. The ethereal beauty of the rainforests and drama of the mountains that surround us must not be missed. Walks in the area, bike rides through the Crown Range, gold panning in the Arrow River; there will be ample enticements for you to get out into nature. For active groups, we have a large, spacious boot room for coats, boots, and ski equipment which helps keep the the outdoors outdoor and the interiors comfortable and clean.
